Easy Glass Jar Upcycle Project
There are so many different ways to repurpose and reuse glass jars. Sometimes it’s as easy as using them to store something without changing them at all! But let’s take a look at how to transform those jars into beautiful and functional candle holders you can use indoors or out!
Supplies needed
For this easy upcycle project you just need a few supplies:
- a variety of glass jars – cleaned with labels removed

- a squeegee
- flameless tea light candles, which are easy to use and safe especially if you have pets or kids around your home!
- sealer of your choice (optional) – If you do not seal your project, you can easily remove the design with water and change up your decor for different seasons and holidays!

Pro tip: easily remove labels from jars by soaking them in warm water with a few drops of dish soap!
Step by Step Instructions
- Clean your jars and remove labels.
- Choose your stencils and paste colors.
- Fuzz your stencil and apply it to your jar.
- Use your squeegee to apply some chalk paste to cover the mesh silk screen on your stencil.
- Peel and reveal your chalked design.
- Seal with your choice of sealer if you want to make the design permanent.

Pro tip: fuzz your stencil extremely well when using on glass surfaces! The adhesive stencils stick really well to glass and if you have to pull hard to remove it, you may damage your stencil.
