One of the best things about Chalk Couture stencils is that you can use them multiple times, in various ways and mix and match them. This blog post shows you 3 ways to use 1 stencil to create coordinating Halloween decor!
3 Ways to Use 1 Stencil
Let’s start with the Inside My Bones stencil design. It is a 12” by 18” stencil with 2 cut apart pieces. The 2 pieces fit perfectly in the Chalk Couture 5” by 18” box frame, but there is so much versatility in this one design that can be used on a variety of surfaces. For more information on Chalk Couture stencils, read the Chalk Couture Stencil Guide.
Below are 3 ways to use 1 stencil, but let your imagination go and see what projects you can come up with!
1st Project
These coffins were found at a local store already painted and ready to be decorated, but there are bound to be lots of options available to you. Check out your local craft or dollar stores to see what you can find! You can also use Chalk Couture ChalkSuede Paper or foam board to create a similar coffin surface to work with. The individual upright skeletons fit perfectly on these little surfaces.

2nd Project
Using Chalk Couture surfaces is also a great way to go! This 5” by 18” box frame was given a little facelift by painting the frame with gold acrylic paint and then lightly distressing it with black ink. The fun sentiment fits perfectly in the frame. For more information on Chalk Couture surfaces, read the Chalk Couture Surface Guide.
For the skeletons, ChalkSuede Paper was painted with black acrylic paint and then the skeletons were chalked on it. The paper was cut just around the skeleton design and glued to the frame. This gives the design a little dimension and also incorporates those crazy little skeletons for some fun!

3rd Project
The 3rd project is a Chalk Couture 5.5” by 7.5” Pallet Sign painted with black acrylic paint and roughed up with sandpaper. The dramatic skeleton was chalked in Bright White Chalkology paste, and the words were chalked in Nominee – August’s Color of the Month Chalkology Paste. The Color of the Month is only available in the month it is released, but you can easily substitute Shimmer Gold Chalkology Paste. Read the Chalk Couture Paste & Ink Guide to learn more about the key ingredient for amazing projects!

Coordinating Projects on Display
Here is how these projects look when they are all displayed together on a front entry table. The colors and design unify the look. Odd numbers make more pleasing displays, so think in terms of 3, 5 or 7 items when planning out your projects!
